Google's 12th Birthday

You may have noticed that Google has a rather odd logo today. It surprised me too, but what surprised me most was that it was to celebrate Google's 12th Birthday, meaning that it has been a whole year since I wrote my Google's 11th Birthday article.

This years logo is rather different from those in previous years. You would expect that after it getting more and more creative with its logos, end even a few animated logos (the first being on the 4th of January 2010, to mark the birthday of Sir Isaac Newton) that for its own birthday, Google would be pulling out all the stops, to create a birthday logo to remember. Instead it seems to have gone for the simpler approach, and bucked the trend of the colourful, 'in your face' sort of logos that you would usually see for its birthday.

Google has had many Birthday logos, the first being to celebrate its 4th Birthday. Before that, Google didn't really change its logo like it does today, so there were no changes in the logo to celebrate its Birthday. To celebrate Google's Birthday, below you can find all the Google Logos from 2002 to 2010 - including its 12th birthday logo.

Google usually does something big on its birthday, and this year has been no exception, with Google Instant being publicly launched on Google.com for all users. Up to now this has only been tested on logged in users before now. No doubt that all the other Google's will soon be following Google.com's lead, unless there is some disastrous impact for Google.

There is one thing left to say now:
Happy 12th Birthday Google!
