The games main characters will be the same as in the television series (The Doctor and Amy Pond). The game will also feature music that has appeared in the television series. Matt Smith (the Doctor), Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) and Nicholas Briggs (the voice of the Daleks) voice their respective characters in the games, to make it as much like a real episode as normal.

The first of the four free games will be "City of the Daleks" and will be available for PC and Mac users. at the beginning of "City of the Daleks" the TARDIS materializes in 1963, and the Daleks have taken control of time. The only chance of saving Earth lies in a quest to the home planet of the Daleks: Skaro.

City of the Daleks has already been beta tested by children in Sheffield, and the reaction was very positive.

The games are part of a big BBC drive, to increase regular internet users computer literacy.

The games were developed by UK game designer Sumo Digital, and were executive produced by Anwen Aspden, Steven Moffat, Piers Wenger and Beth Willis.
