Information About Blogs

This article is for people who want to find out more about blogs.

What is a blog?
A blog is a form of website, with regular entries of descriptions of events, or other material such as images or videos. The page you are currently on is a post on a blog (Christopher Roberts Technology Blog - that's me!).

What is on a blog?
Blogs can contain anything, they really can. Most blogs focus on one specific topic, such as Technology - like my blog. The author(s) of the blog will write information on the topic frequently in many parts, each part is an article, or as it is more frequently called in blog terms, a "post".

How can I find blogs that I would like to read?
There are many ways that you can find blogs, many of them can be found in Google and other search engines, but one of the best ways to find them is by using sites like Technorati, and other blog directories. Technorati is a site where people can submit their blog, and then people with similar interests can find it.

Blog   How can I join Technorati?
I have written an article on how to join Technorati, so I will not be writing that in this post.

What is blogging?
Blogging is the act of maintaining a blog. Anyone can do it, there are many sites out there that offer you free blogs, such as Blogger and WordPress, you can also buy a domain name, and make up your own blog from scratch, you get more freedom and can do more with it, but it costs and can be harder to maintain.

Blog owners tip:
What is the key to writing a successful blog post?
The key to writing a successful post is to keep it short and informative. Too many bloggers write on and on, and loose the attention of their readers. Keep it short and sweet, a good way to remember this is to use the acronym KISS, keep it super simple (or keep it simple stupid!). Also try and break your articles up with relevant images.
