When visiting Santa Pod this easter, I saw a car that the owners said would soon be the fastest car on the planet, as it hopes to break the world land speed record, by soaring to a speed of over 1000mph! That means that it would be able to outrun any animal on the planet, and most other man made things, including a bullet being shot out of a gun!
A handy car for James Bond don't you think?
The car is going to be propelled by two things, a EJ200, which is the engine used in the Eurofighter Typhoon and a Falcon rocket. These two devices will produce over 135,000 horsepower, that's 180 times more than a Formula 1 car.
The car has a huge jet intake, which is directly above the drivers head, meaning that it will be stupidly noisy. To add to the noise, the wheels will be rotating at 10,000 revolutions a minute, to help the car reach its maximum speed. |
